Oxalaia
Oxalaia is a species of Spinosaurid theropod from the Cenomanian age of the Late Cretaceous Period. Named in honor of a deity from African/Brazilian mythology called Oxalá, it was discovered in the Alcântara Formation of Brazil, where it stood as one of the dominant predators. Despite this, it was 12-14 meters long and was the largest theropod known from Brazil, Coexisting with sauropods as well as some other predators like Carcharodontosaurids. However, it does have a sad history: little is known about it since its fossils were burned to cinders in the aftermath of a fire that engulfed the National History Museum of Brazil. Luckily, it has been redescribed as a species of Spinosauridae using the restorations of other creatures like Ichthyovenator & Spinosaurus. Like its cousins Suchomimus(11.6m) & Spinosaurus(18m), it was one of the largest Spinosaurid theropods. Plus, this is one of the rarest fossil finds.
