Aerosteon was a species of late-surviving allosaur that lived in Argentina 84 million years ago. Aerosteon means "air bone". It was called that because Aerosteons's bones had many hollow chambers that would have been filled with air. It is likely that air came in and out of these bones while Aerosteon was running and therefore would have given it more stamina to chase down its prey.
